A lifesaver following knee surgeryJul 25, 2010 This is an amazing little device that was incredibly useful following my knee injury and subsequent surgery. It made getting in & out of car so much easier! I lent mine out and bought a second to keep on hand.
it worksJul 19, 2010 It works surprisingly well in helping me get in and out of passenger seat to transfer into or out of my wheel chair. Very handy and clever.
Standers Not-so-HandybarJul 15, 2010 This looks like it could be a very useful product - however.... it does not work on my older model Volvo station wagon. The door latch it inserts into is too small for the Handybar. A useless piece of junk at the moment. I will probably hold on to it on the off chance I buy a car it does fit. I just hope I can remember where I put it.
The indispensable itemJul 05, 2010 My 80 yo dad recently underwent tendon repair surgery on his knee and I bought for him a variety of items to assist him to be as independantly mobile as possible during his recovery. These ranged from the handybar to bedside and chairside grab rails to hanging straps and other things besides. They all helped in to varying degrees and in various ways, some of which he will continue with even now that he is recovered. Of all the things I got for him, the one he raves the most about is this simple little item. He says it is the one thing he found most useful to him and still does. He doesn't have enough nice things to say about it. I enthusiastically recommend it to everyone who could use a little help getting in and out of their vehicles. He has grown so attached to it that he asked me to get him an extra one just so he knows he and my mother always have one handy. I think if anyone ever tried to take theirs, they would find out just how much fight these two octogenarians still have left in 'em!
Handy BarJun 29, 2010 The purchase was what expected....new product in original retail package. Would definitely purchase again!!!!
